for Quality -
most importantly in the animal protection work
and our efforts!

As a society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, we want to carry out quality work. In addition, we have obligations to the dogs, future dog owners and to our donors.

This is the way we see things from New Graceland.

In today's world, where innumerable unscrupulous people in the media are exposed as animal dealers greedy for profit, it is our mission to consciously move away from such dubious machinations and to carry out the best conceivable best animal protection work.

Our two most important goals are to alleviate the animal misery locally as well as working in Switzerland to unite people and dogs so that the common life for both becomes an enriching experience.

The executive committee of new Graceland is dedicated to the following commitments:

Guiding principles for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals New Graceland

  • Animal protection does not stop for us at the border.

  • We co-operate with other organizations.

  • We support the partner organizations locally.

  • Our association is not profit-oriented. We bring dogs over from Spain with which there may be difficulties in placing in a home, because they are old, male, black, have health problems or are disabled.

  • Dogs from a foreign country are taken first to our quarantine before their admission.

  • Each dog is medically examined by a veterinary surgeon shortly after arrival at the collection point.

  • Each dog is medically cared for before adoption by specialized veterinarians and treated if necessary and/or operated.

  • We place only wormed, vaccinated, neutered and chiped animals.

  • We advise our future dog parents in detail about their choice.

  • We make an adoption contract with dog parents.

  • We require a nominal charge, in order to avoid unconsidered decisions.

  •  We make requirements about the amount of space required.

  • We remain in contact with the owners of the dog after the adoption contact and are always available with advice and help.

  •  We take back any dog which loses its place.

  • We organize meetings for our members for the exchange of experiences.

  • We are conscious that, however hard we try, mistakes can be made. We try to keep these as small as possible and are always open to ideas for improvements.
